Mary Georgia Mohr, RN, is a co-founder of Altrus, Inc. and was a pioneer in the community care industry in Georgia. In the 1980’s, Mary Georgia co-founded CSRA Healthcare in Augusta and a few years later co-founded Altrus along with Martin Miller to ensure that services were available to citizens in areas outside Augusta and the central Savannah River region. When she and her business partner, Helen 

Epps, had the vision to see the future of long term care more than 40 years ago, they envisioned more attentive and loving ‘family-centered’ alternatives to nursing home placement for those whose level of care did not warrant such. 

 

She was and continues to be a staunch supporter of the rights of individuals to be treated with respect and dignity regardless of age, ability or ethnicity. 

 

Mary Georgia graduated from the Georgia Baptist School of Nursing and is a licensed registered nurse.
